Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26 Guidelines Released for Andhra Pradesh Schools



The Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh, under the guidance of State Project Director Sri B. Srinivasa Rao, IAS, has issued detailed guidelines for schools to participate in the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26.

This initiative, launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, on 29th July 2025 during the 5th anniversary celebrations of NEP-2020, aims to promote clean, green, and sustainable school campuses across India. The program builds on earlier initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya Mission (2014) and Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (2016-2017).


 Key Highlights of SHVR 2025-26

  • Eligibility: All Government, Government-aided, and Private schools can participate.

  • Assessment Areas (6 Parameters):

    1. Water – Safe availability, access, quality, and rainwater harvesting.

    2. Toilets – Functional, safe, CWSN-friendly infrastructure.

    3. Handwashing with Soap – Adequacy, accessibility, and behavioral use.

    4. Operation & Maintenance – Waste disposal, cleanliness, and asset upkeep.

    5. Behavior Change & Capacity Building – Eco clubs, awareness drives, student engagement.

    6. Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE – Plantation, plastic reduction, energy & water conservation.

  • School Classification:

    • Category I: Balavatika to Class 8

    • Category II: Classes 9 to 12

    • Separate selection for Rural & Urban schools

  • Selection Levels:

    • District Level: 8 schools (3 Cat-I & 3 Cat-II Rural, 2 Urban)

    • State Level: 20 schools (14 Rural & 6 Urban)

    • National Level: 200 schools (140 Rural & 60 Urban)

  • Recognition & Incentives:

    • Best schools will receive 5-star SHVR rating.

    • Top government schools to get ₹1 lakh school grant.

    • Best-performing states and districts will be recognized for excellence.

    • 200 school heads to get exposure visits for experiential learning.


 Important Dates

  • Last date for application: September 15, 2025

  • District-level evaluation: October 1 – October 31, 2025

  • State-level selection: November 8 – December 5, 2025

  • National-level shortlisting: December 15, 2025 – February 15, 2026

  • Final Ceremony: To be announced later
