The Directorate of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, has released detailed instructions and schedules for the Self-Assessment Model Paper-I (Formative Assessment - FA-1) for the academic year 2025-26. The guidelines cover exam dates, patterns, and the revised assessment structure for primary and secondary schools across the state.

FA-1 Examination Pattern
Classes 1 & 2:
MCQ: 10 questions × 2 marks = 20 marks
Short Answer: 5 questions × 3 marks = 15 marks
Total: 35 marks
Classes 3 to 5:
MCQ: 15 × 1 = 15 marks
Very Short Answer: 2 × 2 = 4 marks
Short Answer: 4 × 4 = 16 marks
Total: 35 marks
Classes 6 to 9:
MCQ: 15 × 1 = 15 marks
Very Short Answer: 2 × 2 = 4 marks
Short Answer: 2 × 4 = 8 marks
Essay: 1 × 8 = 8 marks
Total: 35 marks
Class 10:
Subject-specific marking schemes, each totaling 35 marks, combining MCQs, short, long, and essay-type questions.
Syllabus Highlights
Primary (1–5): Core language, mathematics, EVS, readiness programs, and selected stories and poems for each language (Telugu, English, Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Tamil, Odia).
Secondary (6–10): Coverage includes advanced topics in Maths, Science (Physical, Biological), Social Studies, and all official languages.
Assessment Structure (As per NEP 2020, NCF, NIPUN & PARAKH)
Formative Assessments: Conducted 4 times per year (August, October, January, February).
Summative Assessments: Conducted twice per year (November, April).
Assessment Tools for Formative Assessments:
Children’s participation and reflections (5 marks)
Written work (5 marks)
Project work (5 marks)
Written test (35 marks)
For Classes I & II:
Primarily activity-based and written pencil-paper tests, covering cognitive, aesthetic, and language development.
For Classes III–IX:
Project and classroom-based tasks, book reviews, lab activities, contemporary issues reviews, tested through written exams and practical submissions.
For Class X:
Three formative assessments plus two summative assessments (including public examinations administered by SSC Board).
Weightage for Annual Results:
Internal (FAs and SA-1): 20%
Final Exam (SA-2): 80%
Class 10: Annual results based on public exam marks only.
Examination Procedures and Guidelines
Question papers are securely stored and only distributed an hour before exams.
Strict monitoring by school heads and education officials.
Any deviations will be treated seriously and reported to higher authorities.
