Category 1 — Story-based projects
1. “The Braveheart of My State”
Pick a gallantry awardee from your state (e.g., Capt. Vikram Batra — Himachal Pradesh, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan — Kerala). Create a short story, comic strip or 2–3 minute video narrating their deed and what it taught you.
2. “Letter to a Soldier”
Write a heartfelt handwritten or typed letter to a real or symbolic soldier. Present as a decorated page or a short animated clip.
3. “Unknown Heroes of Kargil”
Prepare a 4–6 slide PowerPoint or a 3-minute documentary highlighting unsung Kargil heroes, with photos, map snapshots and a short voiceover.
🧾 Submission Steps
- Prepare your project (PDF/image/video).
- Visit MyGov Veer Gatha Portal.
- Login and upload your entry with student/school details.
- Download the acknowledgment receipt.
Step-by-step upload guide (school / teacher workflow)
Use this as the official school upload SOP. Follow each step exactly to avoid rejection.
Step 1 — School coordination & shortlisting (Before upload)
-
Announce Veer Gatha activity to students and collect entries (deadline internally: e.g., 25 Sept).
-
Teachers evaluate submissions locally using the judging criteria above. Shortlist top 4 (or fewer) — ensure variety across categories.
-
For each shortlisted entry, prepare metadata: Student name, Class, Section, School name, School address, UDISE code, Teacher name & contact, Title of entry, Short description (20–40 words).
-
Create a teacher verification PDF (1 page) that states: “I verify that the attached work is the original work of [Student Name].” Signed and stamped by Principal/Head.
Step 2 — Prepare files (naming & compression)
-
File naming convention (examples):
-
Poster:
VeerGatha_Poster_Arjun_Class8_BhavanHS.png -
Essay:
VeerGatha_Essay_Nisha_Class9_BhavanHS.pdf -
Video:
VeerGatha_Video_Rahul_Class10_BhavanHS.mp4
-
-
Ensure poster resolution good for print (A4: 2480 × 3508 px) but compressed so file ≤10 MB. Save a high-res master copy locally.
-
Remove copyrighted music from videos. Use royalty-free music or original voiceover.
Step 3 — Login & portal access
-
Open the official upload portal used by your board (commonly MyGov or the board/Central nodal portal). Example link:
https://www.mygov.in(schools often have a specific contest page or task). -
Use the school’s nodal/registered account or the teacher’s institutional account. If the portal requires school registration, ensure the school is registered (UDISE or board credentials). Contact the board/nodal officer if not registered.
Step 4 — Fill the submission form
-
Select category (Poster / Essay / Video / Poem / Multimedia).
-
Enter metadata prepared in Step 1: Student name, class, school, UDISE, teacher details.
-
Upload the entry file and the teacher verification PDF.
-
Paste the short description (20–40 words) describing the submission. Keep it clear, factual and emotive. Example:
“A poster tribute to Capt. Vikram Batra, capturing bravery at Point 4875 — by Arjun, Class 8, Bhavan HS.” -
Confirm consent checkbox (if provided) — that the school has permission to submit and share the work publicly.
Step 5 — Review & submit
-
Carefully preview the uploaded file and metadata. Check for typos in names and UDISE.
-
Submit the form and note the submission ID/acknowledgement number. Screenshot the confirmation and save it in the school records.
-
If multiple files are being uploaded, repeat for each shortlisted entry (up to 4).
Step 6 — Post-submission
-
Share acknowledgement with the participating student & parent.
-
Keep the high-resolution original files and teacher verification signed copies for audit.
-
Monitor email/portal for evaluation updates; winners are usually informed via the portal/official mail.
