The Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, is launching Project Veer Gatha 6.0 during the academic year 2026–27.
In Andhra Pradesh, Samagra Shiksha has issued instructions to ensure effective implementation of the programme and maximum participation of students.
The main objective of Project Veer Gatha is to inculcate patriotism and civic consciousness among students through inspiring stories of gallantry award winners and ancient Indian warriors.

🎯 Objective of Project Veer Gatha 6.0
The project aims to encourage students to learn about the inspiring stories of gallantry award winners and ancient Indian warriors.
Through creative activities, students will get an opportunity to express their ideas, creativity, patriotism and civic consciousness.

Students can participate through creative activities such as:

- 📖 Essay
- 🎨 Painting / Drawing
- 💻 Multimedia Presentation
- 🎥 Short Video
Schools should encourage maximum participation and provide opportunities for students to showcase their talent through these activities.

🏫 School-Level Activities
School-level activities shall be conducted from 12-09-2026 to 04-10-2026.
Schools are expected to encourage students to participate in the prescribed creative activities and identify the best entries for further submission.
Schools should also maintain proper documentation, including photographs and relevant data of the activities conducted.
🇮🇳 Establishment of “Veer Gatha Corner”
Schools shall establish a dedicated “Veer Gatha Corner” to showcase the talent of students.

🌐 MyGov Portal Submission
The selected best entries are to be uploaded through the MyGov portal.
The District and State/UT Level Nodal Officers shall coordinate with schools for submission and evaluation of entries.
Shortlisted entries will be forwarded through the prescribed process. The State shall also ensure confirmation of the genuineness and originality of entries shortlisted for National Level selection.

👨🏫 Nodal Officers – Andhra Pradesh
State Level Nodal Officer: Sri B. Suresh Kumar, Lecturer, SIEMAT, Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh.
The State Level Nodal Officer will coordinate with the Ministry of Education and concerned State and District-level authorities for effective implementation.
The District Educational Officers of all districts of Andhra Pradesh shall nominate one Academic Monitoring Officer (AMO) as the District Level Nodal Officer in their respective districts.

- Ensure maximum participation of schools.
- Facilitate submission of entries.
- Facilitate evaluation of entries.
- Ensure adherence to prescribed guidelines and timelines.

🤝 Interaction with Gallantry Awardees
The State and District Level Nodal Officers shall coordinate with schools for organizing virtual/face-to-face interactions with gallantry awardees, wherever such interactions are arranged by the Ministry of Defence.
