Primary Academic Calendar 2025–26 – Complete Guide for Schools

The Primary Academic Calendar 2025–26 has been designed by SCERT, Andhra Pradesh, in alignment with NEP 2020. It ensures structured teaching, holidays, working days, and innovative learning activities for Classes I to V.

This calendar acts as a comprehensive roadmap for schools, teachers, and students, helping them plan academic activities, assessments, training, and celebrations throughout the year.


Highlights of the Academic Calendar 2025–26

1. School Readiness Programme

  • Six weeks for Classes I & II after reopening.

  • Until 30th June 2025 for Classes III to V.

  • Focus: Language skills (LSRW), Mathematics (four operations), socio-emotional learning.

2. Daily Activities & No-Bag Days

  • Vocabulary games, riddles, storytelling, creative writing.

  • Theatre, arts & crafts, physical activities, gardening.

  • Every Thursday: DIKSHA content usage for digital learning.

3. Holiday Schedule 2025–26

  • Dasara Holidays: 24th Sep to 2nd Oct (general schools).

  • Christmas Holidays: 25th Dec (general schools).

  • Sankranthi Holidays: 10th to 18th Jan 2026.

  • Minority institutions follow separate schedules.

4. Important Days & Celebrations

  • 5th Sept – Teachers’ Day

  • 8th Sept – International Literacy Day

  • 14th Nov – Children’s Day

  • 26th Nov – Constitution Day

  • Other national & international days integrated into the monthly calendar.

5. Working Days

  • Each month specifies working days vs holidays for proper syllabus completion.

  • Teachers are guided to ensure learning outcomes, not just syllabus coverage.

6. Teacher Training & CPD

  • Teachers, headmasters, and educators must attend 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) annually.

  • Training programs focus on pedagogy, digital learning, and student-centric methods.

7. Class-Wise Subject Syllabus Weightage

  • Class I–V subjects: Telugu, English, Mathematics, EVS, Art & Culture, Health Education, Physical Education.

  • Weekly subject-wise periods structured for balanced learning.
