Best Teacher Awards 2025
The School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh has officially launched the Best Teacher Awards 2025, a prestigious recognition initiative celebrating the contribution of exceptional educators across the state. These awards will be presented during the Teacher’s Day (Guru Pujotsavam) celebrations on 5th September 2025, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Objective
The initiative aims to highlight and reward the dedication, creativity, and impact of teachers who have significantly contributed to improving the quality of education in government and aided institutions.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible participants include regular teachers from institutions under various managements such as Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, Aided, APSWREIS, APTWREIS, APMS, APREIS, KGBV, and DIETs.
Only those with 10 years of minimum service and with no previous state award or pending disciplinary cases are eligible. Applications can be made through self-nomination or by peer recommendation.
Award Categories
Teachers can be nominated in multiple categories such as:

Headmasters of various government-managed schools

School Assistants and Secondary Grade Teachers

Language and Physical Education Teachers

Craft, Music, and Drawing Teachers

DIET Senior Lecturers
The award process is divided into three pathways:

Offline Self-Nomination through Divisional and District-level screenings

Peer Recommendation, where five fellow teachers nominate an eligible teacher

Performance-Based Selection via the LEAP App (IT-enabled)
Selection Process
A multi-level, transparent evaluation system is in place:

Divisional and District Committees first screen applications.

Shortlisted candidates are forwarded to the State Selection Committee.

Finalists will undergo interviews before the state-level list of 104 awardees is announced.

Final List Announcement: 25th August 2025

Awards Ceremony: 5th September 2025
Awards & Recognition
Each selected state-level awardee will receive:

A Gold-Plated Silver Medal

A Shawl
-
A Cash Prize of ₹20,000

An official Merit Certificate
In addition, Mandal and District level recognitions will also be awarded to top-performing teachers across various categories.

The Directorate has emphasized a merit-based and evidence-driven approach. The use of digital portfolios, structured interviews, and third-party verification ensures that only the most deserving educators are celebrated.
