Veer Gatha 5.0 (2025-26): Inspiring Patriotism Among Students

The Government of India in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) has officially launched Veer Gatha 5.0 for the academic year 2025-26. This national-level initiative aims to instill patriotism, civic responsibility, and awareness of India’s military traditions among school students.

Under the program, students will creatively present stories of gallantry award winners and ancient Indian warriors through poems, essays, drawings, multimedia projects, storytelling, and short videos.

 Objectives of Veer Gatha 5.0

• To spread awareness about bravery stories of gallantry awardees

• To highlight India’s rich military traditions (Samarik Parampara)

• To develop values of patriotism and civic consciousness

• To encourage creativity and innovation in students through art, essays, and multimedia

 Project Activities and Categories

Students from Classes 3 to 12 can participate across three stages:

1. Preparatory Stage (Grades 3–5): Poem, Paragraph (150 words), Painting, Drawing

2. Middle Stage (Grades 6–8): Poem, Paragraph (300 words), Painting, Multimedia Presentation, Short Video

3. Secondary Stage (Grades 9–12): Poem, Essay (750 words), Multimedia Presentation, Short Video, Painting

Suggested Topics:

• Life and values of a Gallantry Award winner

• Military strategies of great warriors (Prithviraj Chauhan, King Kharavela, Shivaji, Cholas, 1857 freedom fighters, tribal uprisings, etc.)

• How India’s warriors inspire today’s youth

 Timeline of Veer Gatha 5.0

• 30 September 2025 – School-level activities to be completed

• 1–15 October 2025 – Schools upload best entries to MyGov Portal

• 17 October – 10 November 2025 – District-level evaluation

• 12–30 November 2025 – State-level evaluation

• 4–24 December 2025 – National-level evaluation

• By 30 December 2025 – Results announced

 Rewards and Recognition

• National Level (Super 100): 100 winners (25 from classes 3–5, 25 from classes 6–8, and 50 from classes 9–12)

• State/UT Level: 8 winners from each State/UT

• District Level: 4 winners from each district

🏆 Prizes:

• National Winners: ₹10,000 cash award + certificate from MoD & MoE

• State/District Winners: Felicitation by local authorities + certificates
