Veer Gatha 5.0 (2025-26): Inspiring Patriotism Among Students
The Government of India in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) has officially launched Veer Gatha 5.0 for the academic year 2025-26. This national-level initiative aims to instill patriotism, civic responsibility, and awareness of India’s military traditions among school students.
Under the program, students will creatively present stories of gallantry award winners and ancient Indian warriors through poems, essays, drawings, multimedia projects, storytelling, and short videos.
Objectives of Veer Gatha 5.0

To spread awareness about bravery stories of gallantry awardees

To highlight India’s rich military traditions (Samarik Parampara)

To develop values of patriotism and civic consciousness

To encourage creativity and innovation in students through art, essays, and multimedia
Project Activities and Categories
Students from Classes 3 to 12 can participate across three stages:

Preparatory Stage (Grades 3–5): Poem, Paragraph (150 words), Painting, Drawing

Middle Stage (Grades 6–8): Poem, Paragraph (300 words), Painting, Multimedia Presentation, Short Video

Secondary Stage (Grades 9–12): Poem, Essay (750 words), Multimedia Presentation, Short Video, Painting
